Pinnawala

At the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, the home to almost 70 Elephants of different ages you will have the opportunity to watch this herd as they bathe and play in the river nearby. There are many babies and almost all these Elephants are ones that have been found in the jungles lost and separated from their herds or with injuries. This is a heartwarming experience. Meal times are very interesting with the really small babies guzzling down many huge bottles of milk.
